This is a rare July 1959 program (playbill) from the Summer Stock engagement of the RICHARD RODGERS and OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN II musical "THE KING AND I" at the Dayton Theatre Festival in Dayton, Ohio. (The Original Broadway production opened March 29th, 1951 at the St. James Theatre in New York City and ran for 1246 performances.) ..... The production starred PATRICIA MORISON as "Anna Leonowens" and JOSE DUVAL as "The King" and featured BETTY COLBY, DON BECKER, RALSTON HILL, PETER DAWSON, MARIE SANTELLA, JERRY ORBACH, ROBERT DARNELL and JACK MURRAY ..... CREDITS: Music by RICHARD RODGERS; Book and Lyrics by OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN 2nd based on the novel "Anna and the King of Siam" by MARGARET LANDON; Sets designed by JACK CORNWELL and WALTER BAKER; Choreographed by RHODA LEVINE; Directed by ED BALIN; Produced by DOUGLAS CRAWFORD in association with JOSEPH VISPI .....
