This is a rare March 1955 programme (playbill) from the Original Norwegian production of the IRVING BERLIN, HOWARD LINDSAY and RUSSEL CROUSE musical comedy "CALL ME MADAM" at the Central Teatret in Oslo, Norway. (The Original Broadway production opened October 12th, 1950 at the Imperial Theatre in New York City and ran for 644 performances.) ..... The musical starred INGERID VARDUND as "Mrs. Sally Adams", the new Ambassador to the mythical country of Lichtenburg (the role created on Broadway by ETHEL MERMAN). Based loosely on the life and career of PERLE MESTA (U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg in the 1940's), the musical also starred LAURITZ FALK, ANNE-LISE TANGSTAD and FRANK ROBERT and featured CARL STRUVE, WILLY KRAMER-JOHANSEN, LEIF ENGER, OSCAR AMUNDSEN, METTE LANGE-NIELSEN, JON LENNART MJOEN, ODD BORG, ROLF FALKENBERG-SMITH, PER LILLO-STENBERG, ERNA SCHOYEN and ULF SELMER .....
