The musical starred the Tony Award winning GWEN VERDON (shown in the cover photo) as "Lola", STEPHEN DOUGLASS as "Joe Hardy" and RAY WALSTON as "Applegate" and featured RUSS BROWN, SHANNON BOLIN, NATHANIEL FREY, WILLIAM ADAMS, RAE ALLEN, ROBERT SHAFER, ELIZABETH HOWELL, EDDIE PHILLIPS, BOB DISHY, DEL HORSTMANN, FRANK BOULEY and CHERRY DAVIS ..... Side Note: "DAMN YANKEES" was honored with seven 1956 Tony Awards including "Best Musical" ..... CREDITS: Book by GEORGE ABBOTT and DOUGLASS WALLOP based on the novel, "The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant," by DOUGLASS WALLOP; Music and Lyrics by RICHARD ADLER and JERRY ROSS ("Pajama Game"); Sets and Costumes designed by WILLIAM and JEAN ECKART; Choreographed by BOB FOSSE; Directed by GEORGE ABBOTT; Produced by FREDERICK BRISSON, ROBERT E. GRIFFITH and HAROLD S. PRINCE ..... DETAILS: The 48 page playbill measures 6 1/2" X 9" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, list of musical numbers and bios of each of the leading actors but with the exception of the front cover and an ad featuring cast members of the "Damn Yankees" cast, no additional cast photos. Includes a loose ticket stub from the September 15th, 1956 evening performance ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light creasing from normal handling and minor edge wear, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
