This is a rare January 20th, 1910 program (playbill) from the three-night, Pre-Broadway engagement of the E. H. SOTHERN and JULIA MARLOWE Company at the Providence Opera House in Providence, Rhode Island. (The company would open February 7th, 1910 at New York's Academy of Music for a six-week run, closing March 21st, 1910.) ..... The repertoire included performances of William Shakespeare's "ROMEO and JULIET" and "TAMING OF THE SHREW". The front cover promotes the one-week engagement of the musical comedy extravaganza "DICK WHITTINGTON" starring LOUISE DRESSLER and KATE ELINORE and a 150 member company ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light creasing and minor edge wear, this program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
