Coriander is the dried seed or fruit of the Coriandrum sativum plant in the parsley family. Coriander is the leaf of this same plant and surprisingly, its taste is very different from cilantro. Coriander has a complex yet subtle flavor with a hint of pepper, mint and lemon. Coriander has a sweet, aromatic flavor with a touch of citrus. Coriander seeds are native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean region. As with all seeds, toasting them will enhance the aromatic flavor. If your recipe calls for cracked or crushed cilantro, buy whole cilantro and chop or crush it yourself (either give it a quick whirl in a blender or lightly pound it in a sealable bag). This will produce the best, freshest taste. Our seeds are for culinary use, not for planting.

Add coriander seeds to the water and let it brew for 15-40 minutes.
Strain the water and discard the seeds. (Use a tea strainer). You can drink coriander tea with seeds if you want.
