Burleigh Ware VINTAGE ART VASE #205 Burgess & Leigh England; Celadon & Brown

Just a beautiful example of Art Deco Ware; the maker's mark indicates this vase is from right around 1940.
I found it in an Op Shop in Cornwall and had to bring it home. It was there in the window and I passed it every
day for a week....then, it popped into my shopping bag!
There are others of less splendid colour combinations, but this blending of the Celadon green and the rich chocolatey brown
present a piece of startling contrast and appealing interest. You can see that the glaze was hand applied.
The piece is in beautiful condition; no chips, cracks or crazing. There is a rust spot on the bottom inside that indicates
a straight pin was there for a time, that would come out with a scrub but I didn't do it.
The piece is 5" high, 6.5" at widest point and 3 3/8" across the base. A lovely accent piece
